Bioethanol is a product of processing of starch-and sugar-containing crops.

Sacchariferous:

corn
wheat
rye
barley
potatoes
Jerusalem artichoke

sugarcane
sugar beet
sorghum

 

Nowadays majority of bioethanol is produced from maize (the USA) and sugar cane (Brazil).

When choosing a feedstock first of all it is necessary to take into account its availability and also possibility of provision of the factory with it in sufficient volumes.
